Protection of the public

A BPS licence is mandatory for all private security providers and agents. Ask for it!

Protection of the public

Every agent, agency owner, administrator, shareholder, director and representative undergoes an annual security verification (consider background check) by the Sûreté du Québec to ensure the individual is of good moral standing, has no criminal ties, and has no criminal record incompatible with activities in the private security sector.

Regular visits are carried out by our Investigation and Inspection Department dedicated to ensure that all personnel in the private security industry continue to comply with the Private Security Act and its standards of conduct regulation.

Every agent must adhere to the Regulation respecting standards of conduct of agent licence holders, which outlines acceptable conduct on behalf of agents as well as behaviour and practices deemed unethical.  To learn more about the standards related to agent conduct, please consult the above link.

Training and competency standards are in place to assess if agents possess the required training or have sufficient work experience to exercise their profession.  This reinforces industry professionalism and ensures an elevated quality of services offered.
